HOW grIP WORKS
Learn about our process, how we match you to the right Operator, and defining outcomes from day 1.
Most founders who come to grIP have already tried the generalist route. An advisor who sounded close enough. A hire expected to figure it out. Time spent circling the problem instead of solving it.
grIP works differently. Every engagement starts with a clearly defined problem, a matched Operator who has solved it before, and an outcome agreed to before any work begins.
Here's what that looks like in practice.
The Five Steps
Step 1: You tell us what's broken
Submit our intake form. It's free, takes about ten minutes, and gives us the context we need to make the right match.
We ask about your stage, runway, urgency, budget, and the specific problem in front of you. This helps us understand exactly what your "moment" requires.
Step 2: We find the right Operator
grIP reviews every intake personally and identifies the Operator on our bench who has solved this problem before. If we have the right match, we'll tell you who it is and why. If we don't, we'll tell you that too.
Step 3: Two sessions. No commitment required
Before any paid engagement begins, you and your matched Operator work through two structured sessions focused on the problem identified in your intake.
The goal is to determine whether the match, problem scope, and working dynamic are right before moving forward.
Step 4: We define what success looks like. In writing
If the trial confirms the match, the engagement is scoped before any additional work begins.
That includes a defined outcome, timeline, and success metric agreed to by both sides from the start.
Step 5: Your Operator gets to work!
Your Operator is in. The scope is set. From here the engagement runs as a project or retainer based on what the problem requires.
grIP stays involved to maintain alignment, accountability, and outcome quality throughout the engagement.
What if the match isn't right?
If the two sessions surface a mismatch in problem, stage, timing, or working dynamic, we'll find you a new match within grIP.
If your problem falls outside our lane, we'll let you know right away.
Not every conversation needs an engagement
grIP's Mentors are experienced professionals who host monthly Office Hours for founders navigating specific questions, decisions, or inflection points. These sessions are designed to give founders direct access to high caliber perspectives in a structured, low commitment format. Our Office Hours offer a clear sense of how grIP thinks about problems before a formal engagement begins.
